For my first week here I helped out with a program called school in the park. Which is a program that helps schools bring a class of an age group to the museum for a week every day and for that whole week we learn about a Project and do the art Project. This week we made paper with recycled paper and fabrics. With the pulps we made we then shaped out the paper pulp and let it dry. We then made marbled paper with paints and water. On that last day (Friday) we made a book out of the dried paper and a book cover with the marbled paper. We also took a tour of the museum and got to hang out with the great 3rd graders and got to have one on one time with them. One of the biggest challenges of my internship would probably be having patience but not just with the kids and students but also with the teachers and working around them because I feel like they can get very stressed out and not think straight sometimes. It can be overwhelming for me sometimes as their helper. I feel like overall this week was a great learning experience for me to be able to learn the ways for patients with not just the kids but with my mentors and adults and older people around me.
